All patients registered at Stanley Corner Medical Centre have been allocated a 'Named Accountable GP' to take responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services based on clinical judgement.
Your named GP is the doctor you are registered with (this is on your medical card). If you do not have a medical card you can ask at reception.
We have already notified some patients either by text message or when they were seen at surgery but some so far we have been unable to contact.
This does not mean you can only see your named GP, you can book and appointment and see any GP at Stanley Corner Medical Centre.
Postnatal & baby checks
Attendance at these clinics is strictly by appointment only.
Cervical smears can be performed by Doctors and our nurse at routine appointments by prior arrangement.
Clinic session arrangements may change from time to time.
Services include cervical smears, blood pressure checks and urine testing. Menopausal symptoms and hormone replacement therapy can also be discussed. We send out invitations for you to attend, but you are welcome to make an appointment at any time. If we send you an appointment for a cervical smear test and you cannot attend, please let us know so that we can arrange a more convenient time.
In cooperation with our hospital colleagues, we provide regular checks, advice and support for you and your baby, including your postnatal check.
We believe that family planning is an important part of General Practice services. We are pleased to help you find the method of contraception which best suits you. We also provide emergency contraceptive services.
We seek to provide a routine assessment of patients over 75 years at least annually. This can take place at the surgery or at home.
Please be assured that everything you say to us (doctors, nurse, receptionists and others) WILL stay confidential. This is our duty. Even if you are under 16, nothing will be said to anyone – parents, relatives, care workers etc. – without your permission. The only justification to disclose anything would be to protect you or someone else from very serious harm. Even in this exceptionally rare situation, we would expect to discuss this with you first
Please telephone the Surgery between 1:00pm and 2:00pm or 3:00pm and 4:00pm
This is the best time to call because a doctor or the nurse should be available to speak to you about your results.
